Eastern Bull is a proud sponsor of the Cabrina Cummings Memorial Scholarship, dedicated to her memory as a member of the Drum’s family and an East Carolina University student. The scholarship is awarded each semester to a Native American student attending ECU or Pitt Community College. The Drum raises money for the scholarship through donations, raffles, and group merchandise sales. The drum also helps stock the local Salvation Army’s food bank by encouraging schools to collect food items or make cash donations prior to and during our visits. The drum recently made and donated Native-American style flutes to the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, a Native American substance abuse center. We have purchased contemporary Native American books to be donated to public schools and libraries in Pitt County, Martin County and Greene County. A big thank you to Larry and Karen Fisher for all their support to the Cabrina Cummings Memorial Scholarship. They have helped many Native American students complete their education. The Cabrina Cummings Memorial Scholarship is also sponsored by Jim and Linda Cooper, The East Carolina Native American Organization, Sigma Omicron Epsilon, and Epsilon Chi Nu.
